Compatibility with the phone line
For those using VoIP, you might want to check if your home security system is working
compatibly with your phone line. There has recently been an issue that there
are some security systems that do not work well with VoIP.
There
is also what we call the “phone line seizure”. This means that your phone line
is connected first to the control panel, and the control panel will direct the
phone to the rest of the house. If you hear a sound like a phone number being dialed
when you’re on the phone, this would mean that your phone line wasn’t connected
properly to execute the phone line seizure. |
