Just as security cameras can come in black and white or color versions, so can video
monitors. If your security systems camera is black and white, then you have
no need for a color monitor. Video monitors come in a variety of sizes and it
is best to buy a larger monitor because the smaller ones may be hard to view. If
you can't tell for certain that the person you expect is the one at the door,
then your security system is being defeated.
Some security systems
allow the video signal to be sent to a television and although many users appreciate
this functionality, televisions don't tend to have very good resolution.
CCTV
monitors may have as many as 1000 lines of screen resolution as
compared to 550 lines usable on ordinary televisions. This shows that security
monitors do have their place in a home security system. |
